Decoupage Products
Since my last post I have been experimenting with the decoupage technique and applying it to different products-
Decoupage Hearts- make perfect hanging decorations for the home or can be used as gift tags to add a nice finish to that perfectly wrapped gift for your loved ones.
Pictured items and many more decoupaged pieces can now be purchased from our Facebook profile for more information please add: Designs-by Boutique-a

After creating the small heart I have now moved and to 'bigger and better' ideas and have been creating a range of decoupaged picture frames and mirrors.

Experimenting with Decoupage
Morning everyone! Just thought I would share an update of a new technique I have been experimenting with. . .decoupage.
Decoupage is a technique I have been wanting to try out for a while now but never got round to it-until now :-)
I stocked up on lots of supplies decoupage glue, paint brushes, lots of lovely papers including Cath Kidston designs!! then go to work experimenting on a blank cardboard letter (letters can be bought from most good craft suppliers)

My supplies and a selection of some of the papers I bought to experiment with.
After lots of experimenting with tearing and cutting papers to size, over lapping and general playing around I completed my letter- what to do you think??
I love this technique and now cant wait to decoupage everything in sight!!

Vintage postcards
As the Chic Vintique event was very vintage inspired, with lots of lovely antique stalls as well as crafts I decided I would try and sell some of me own vintage items I seem to of accumulated over the years.
Whilst at university, as part of one of my projects I purchased lots of gorgeous vintage postcards, each with a lovely unique hand written message and I still have so many of them left so I decided to create some lovely postcard packs to sell on my stall at this event.
Each pack contains a variety of postcards with lovely hand written messages and original postage stamps- what do you think?
As I had hoped, they certainly created lots of interest and I met lots of lovely people who were admiring them and kindly told me of their own tales about their personal collections of postcards and letters some dating back to world war 1!
I still have lots more postcards to package up into little bundles for sale so if you would like to get your hands on one of theses interesting packs please contact me -amii.briggs@hotmail.com or pop over to my Facebook page for a nosey - Designs-by Boutique-a

Yarn Bombing!
What is Yarn Bombing I hear you say- for those of you that are not familiar with this term Yarn bombing is a word used to describe a new craze that uses hand knitted and crotchet pieces to create colourful and often quirky graffiti/street art instead of the usual media such as spray paint or chalk
.
It appears the yarn bombers have taken a particular liking to an area local to me, Saltburn. Back in March the yarn bombers hit the local pier with a spectacular knitted display of the the Olympics which was reported to be a whopping 50 feet long!

It was an amazing display of lots of brightly coloured characters which appeared to be participating in a variety of Olympic events.
This week is appears the yarn bombers have hit the pier again with a royal themed display just in time for the Jubilee celebrations.
Such a cute way to showcase your talent! Great work mystery yarn bomber! Lovely way to bring the community together and put a smile on everyones face.

Chic Vintique Update
Whoops! big apology for the lack of posts :-/ been super busy since my last craft fair. Chic Vintique proved to be even better than the year before and resulted in me selling out of several lines of stock so I am over the moon as this day could not of went any better. Due to this I have now been locked away in the studio for the past few weeks trying to replenish my stocks as well as creating a few new lines to celebrate the Queens Jubilee.
For those of you who couldn't make it down to the parish gardens for Chic Vintique here's a few photos taken from my stall on the day . . .

What do you think?
These bunnies weren't intentionally created for Easter (I simply fell in love with the pattern and HAD to make them!so cute!) however I seem to of planned their creation well as they are flying out!
In order to get your hands on your very own bunny please check out our Facebook page Designs-by Boutique-a
Each bunny comes with a little tag which includes a poem and a space where you can personalise them by giving your bunny a name.
